Chester FC has welcome Michelle Clarke as its new 'Her Game Too' Ambassador, with Vienna Doherty taking on the role of advocate.

Michelle and Vienna's roles within 'Her Game Too' work closely with the club to tackle sexism and support women in sports.

'Her Game Too' is a non-profit organisation which launched in 2021, and the Blues "have been proud to work with them" in that time.

It hosts an annual focus fixture dedicated to the campaign which takes place every season at the Deva Stadium.

Michelle has been a Chester FC supporter for 24 years and regularly attends games with her husband and daughter.

She said: "My love for football started at an early age, but I never had the opportunity to play.

"That passion led me to become an FA Level 1 qualified coach, where I had the privilege of coaching U7s and U9s girls' teams.

"Being involved in the game in this way has been incredibly rewarding, and I'm proud to play a role in encouraging more girls to take up football."

Taking on the role of Advocate, Vienna is a regular in the Chester FC Women's team, impressing in goal as the Blues look to secure a top four spot in the NWWRFL Division One South this season.

Vienna said: "I've come all the way through the Chester FC girls' football pathway from the age of 15, and now I'm proud to be the goalkeeper for the women's first team.

"Growing up in the game, I've seen the challenges that women and girls still face in football whether it's a lack of opportunities, being underestimated, or just not always feeling like we belong.

"That's why I'm so passionate about this role. I want to help break down those barriers, raise awareness, and make sure that women and girls feel welcome, valued, and supported.

"By working with Chester FC and Her Game Too, I hope to inspire more girls to get involved and show that there's a place for them in football."

Roopa Vyas, COO of Her Game Too, said: "I am delighted to welcome Michelle as Chester FC's new Her Game Too ambassador and Vienna as the club's advocate.

"Chester FC has remained actively engaged with the Her Game Too campaign even without an ambassador in place, demonstrating their genuine commitment to making football more inclusive and underlining what our partnership means!

"Michelle and Vienna bring unique perspectives to their roles, having had slightly different journeys with both football and Chester FC.

"Their shared passion for driving positive change, combined with their individual experiences, makes their pairing even more valuable for the club and its fanbase.

"I'm excited to see how they build on the great work already happening at Chester FC and look forward to supporting them in their new roles."

Albert Davies, General Manager of Chester FC, said: "On behalf of everyone at the football club, I'd like to welcome Michelle and Vienna and thank them for taking on their respective roles.

"Football is a game for all and here at Chester FC we are proud to be a club for all.

"I look forward to working closely with Michelle and Vienna as we aim to make further strides to create positive change within the football community."
