This special event includes a delicious afternoon tea followed by a guided visit to the Grosvenor Museum, where the British Museum's touring exhibition, Gladiators of Britain, is making a rare appearance.

Guests will be seated promptly at 1:30pm to enjoy a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, cakes, and pastries, served with premium teas or coffee. After tea, you'll take a short walk to the museum for a fascinating tour led by a guide from the Grosvenor Museum, offering expert insights into the lives of gladiators who once fought in Britain's Roman amphitheatres.

The Gladiators of Britain exhibition is part of a prestigious British Museum partnership and will be shown at only four venues across the UK this year. It brings together some of the most significant artefacts from Roman Britain, exploring the history of gladiatorial combat, the identities of the fighters, and the cultural importance of spectacle in Roman society. The exhibition also highlights local connections to Roman entertainment, making Chester the perfect setting for this truly unique experience.
