Afterglow - Chester Zoo - Friday 1 August

A unique event starting this Friday will see Chester Zoo transformed after hours for 'Afterglow'.

A description for the event reads: "Afterglow will offer guests the unique chance to encounter some of the world's most endangered species during golden hour, which, for many animals, is one of their most active periods.

"Life-sized prehistoric dinosaur puppets will roam the zoo with full theatrical performances and interactive meet-and-greets throughout each evening.

"Other new additions this year include a silent disco, giant inflatables, a Master Lego Builder experience, and an array of roaming performers – including acrobats, jugglers and stilt walkers.

"Zoo members go free but must pre-book in advance."

Makers Market - Chester - Saturday 2 August

The Makers Market brings over 80 artisans to Exchange Square (Nub News)

Taking place from 10am - 4pm this Saturday, the Makers Market brings over 80 artisans to Exchange Square, Chester.

Carriage Shed, a unique semi-covered space which hosts a variety of events in the city, is gearing up to host a Funk & Soul Day Disco this Saturday.

A description for the event reads: "We love live music at Carriage Shed - from local talent to big names it's always a treat to welcome great musicians to our space.

"This Saturday we're looking forward to welcoming the legendary Craig Charles Funk & Soul Day Disco - known for his legendary DJ sets packed with energy and soul!

This weekend at The Deva Tap, the team will be serving up their famous Sunday Roast - with the option of roast beef, chicken, gammon or nut roast. There is also the option for the full trio of meats.
