Police appeal for information following serious Chester collision

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and video footage after a tractor collided with two houses in Chester.

At 6.36am on Tuesday 1 April, police were called to reports of a collision on the A51 Vicars Cross Road, near to the junction of Pearl Lane.

Officers attended the scene and found that there had been a collision between a tractor and a Mercedes.

The tractor had also collided with two houses.

There were no reports of any serious injuries, and the occupants of the two houses were all safe well.

However, the drivers of the two vehicles were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Both men have since been released.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 52-year-old man from Boughton, has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving.

He has since been released pending further enquiries.

Both vehicles have since been recovered from the scene and traffic management has now been handed to the local authority.
