A new deli is coming to Hoole this autumn, replacing former business Deli Vert.

Behind the new eatery is the creator of popular Chester bakery, Kookaburra Bakehouse.

Based on Goss Street, the artisan microbakery opened its doors in Chester city centre in June 2021, specialising in Australian bakes, cruffins and sourdough loaves.

Echidna Deli is set to open in Hoole this October.

The former occupants of the Faulkner Sreet unit was Deli Vert, a small family-run deli, which offered high quality produce and food to-go.

Its owners announced the closure in March last year.

Explaining their decision, they said: "Unfortunately due to economic circumstances, Deli Vert can no longer continue trading.

"We will be closing our doors for the last time on Saturday 29 March

"I would personally like to thank all of our customers for your support over the years. I'm taking this decision with a heavy heart, I have really enjoyed our time together."
