A group of travellers have now left a site in Chester after being served a section 60C notice.

On Saturday evening (9 August), police received reports of a number of unauthorised caravans at Coronation Recreation ground in Hoole.

Shortly after, officers attended the council-owned land and issued a section 60C notice.

The notice ordered the occupants to leave the site by 12pm on Monday 11 August.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 5.45pm on Saturday 9 July police were made aware of an unauthorised encampment at Coronation Recreation ground in Hoole.

"Officers attended and a section 60C notice was issued ordering the occupants to leave the site by 12pm on Monday 11 August.

"The occupants have since left the site."

A spokesperson for Cheshire West and Chester Council said: "We received reports of an unauthorised encampment of caravans at Coronation fields, Hoole, Chester. The group had a section 60c served on them and left yesterday."
