Tomorrow, a "Roman takeover" will mark the opening of The Ivy Chester's reservation lines.

Ahead of its official opening next month, the Ivy has planned a special event to mark its reservation lines opening on Tuesday 31 March.

From 11am to 3pm, ivy-crowned 'Romans' will stage a banquet on Eastgate Street. "Inspired by the city's heritage", the spectacle forms part of the celebrations for The Ivy Collection's 46th addition.

Visitors will also have the chance to win a free banquet at The Ivy - a champagne meal for four.

Located on Newgate Street, the high-end UK restaurant chain - renowned for its classic British menu and stylish interiors - is set to open on Tuesday 28 April.

The venue previously housed All Bar One at Newgate House, which closed in October 2025. News of The Ivy's Chester location first emerged last November.

This new site marks the chain's third North West location, joining existing restaurants in Manchester's Spinningfields and Liverpool's Castle Street.

Boasting 163 covers, the venue will also feature an impressive terrace for alfresco dining. Guests can expect The Ivy's iconic dishes alongside seasonal specials and a carefully curated drinks menu.
