Former Dee Miller pub reopens as Tanishq Indian restaurant
By Dherran Titherington 30th Mar 2026
A new Indian restaurant will host its grand opening this evening (Monday, 30 March), taking over the site of the former Dee Miller pub on Coniston Road.
The launch event for Tanishq begins at 5pm, with guests treated to free bubbly on arrival and 20% off all food bills.
Entertainment will include a live violin performance by Lauren Charlotte, and the Lord Mayor of Chester is expected to attend.
The new restaurant welcomed its first guests last month, with the owners sharing their excitement at becoming "part of the local community."
Late last year, a licensing application was submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council for the conversion of the former pub.
The Dee Miller pub, a community staple dating back to the 1960s, closed in 2018 and remained empty for over four years.
Part of the site was later converted into a Heron Foods store, whilst the original pub premises were briefly revived in 2023 by The North Pub Company Limited. Despite this, the venue was put up for auction late last year.
Tanishq Indian Cuisine promises to be Chester's new "go-to spot for authentic Indian cuisine", open seven days a week, including bank holidays.
