Chester pub scene celebrated with viral 'Great British Pub Crawl' visit

The pair behind the Great British Pub Crawl came to Chester at the weekend.
The "Notts-based" couple, Dale and Holly Harvey, have built their page through an attempt to visit every single pub, bar, micropub, social club and "anywhere else they serve beer across this great country".
Each pub they visit gets its own review, generating important coverage of independent or hidden spots, along with well-known locations.
Starting on March 16 2022, their social media has seen tremendous growth, with over one million Youtube views and 123,000 followers on their facebook page.
Kicking off their two-day mission on Saturday (4 April) at The Deva Tap, they commended its wide range of choice on keg and cask offerings, with "exceptional choices and styles of beer".
'Death By Tacos' was also recognised for its friendly owners and "fantastic little menu of Mexican delights".

The spot went down a treat, described as a "great little dive bar doing exceedingly good things".
For the most recommended pub of the day, they headed to 'The Cavern of The Curious Gnome' - which was headed as a "quirky place with toadstool seats and plenty of interesting things to look at".
Significant emphasis was given to 'The Cellar', where the couple pointed out that customers ought to not judge a book by its cover.
Described as "a true craft and cask house", the inside of the pub made up for its lack of "wow factor" at first glance.
'That Beer Place' also received top marks, as the post said: "Tap selection is on point, the can offerings in the fridge are endless and the landlord is called Dale - so they automatically have legendary status in my book."
Its national CAMRA Cider & Perry Pub Of The Year award was also recognised.
A total of 18 pubs were visited on the first day, which included:
- Deva Tap Chester
- The Boot Inn

On Day two, they made it to an additional 20 pubs, starting the morning at 'The Union Vaults'.
Its newest Landlady, Sarah, was celebrated for the "fantastic" job she has done with the place.
Noting its warm and welcoming atmosphere, the review said: "This is what I would call proper pub.
"A working man's, salt of the earth type place - where the welcome means you'll enter as a stranger but leave as a friend."
The "eye watering" 'Brewery Tap' was also applauded, for its rich history, "brilliant beer selection" and "lovely staff".
Later, they visited what is often considered to be Chester's most 'traditional pub' - 'The Albion Inn'.
It's traditional aesthetic and commitment to its history was heralded as "a glorious little trip back in time", with "traditional pub values and a look to match".
The Albion Inn's leadership was also praised for leading the charge on how pubs ought to operate.

After visiting 20 pubs on the Sunday, the duo called it a day for the Chester pub crawl- closing off the evening at 'The Bull and Stirrup'.
