Filthy Chester Tour - Friday 28 November

Live History will host its 'Filthy Chester Tour' this Friday, kicking off at 5:30pm.
A description for the event reads: "Hear about historical court cases that would make people blush, consider how certain lost buildings played host to disasters - or learn Shakespearean slang that will get you laid.
"This is a tour for those with a dark sense of humour, who relish uncomfortably taboo tales of a more 'adult nature' - grotesque, sexy and obscene language, complete with images of lost local buildings and a bag of naughty replicas.
"Not suitable for those with a sensitive disposition due to taboo stories and contextual swearing. Strictly 18 years and over."

Christmas Tree Festival - Chester Cathedral - Saturday 29 November

Chester Cathedral is set to unveil its annual Christmas Tree Festival this weekend.
A description for the event reads: "Make memories and create a family tradition by visiting Chester Cathedral's annual Christmas Tree Festival.
"A delightful family-friendly day out. Enjoy over 80 trees decorated in the theme of Christmas Around the World. Free entry for children 5 and under.
"Pre-book your Christmas entry to ensure speedy entry. Last entry 5.30pm. No booking or entry fee for Sundays.
"Between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day the Cathedral closes at 4pm with last entry for the Christmas Tree Festival at 3.30pm. Please check our upcoming closures on the website for other Nave and café closures during the Christmas Tree Festival."

Chester Christmas Makers Market - Saturday 29 November

A description for the event reads: "We're returning to Chester for another sparkling weekend filled with festive cheer, family fun, live music and an incredible lineup of talented local makers!
"This Saturday 29 November from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 11am to 5pm, you can stroll the stalls, warm up with festive treats, enjoy live entertainment and soak up the Christmas atmosphere in the heart of Chester.
"There will be live music, lots of stalls, festive fun for the whole family and a magical day out to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Coffee tasting - High Coffee Bar - Sunday 30 November

Ukrainian speciality coffee shop High Coffee Bar is hosting a public coffee tasting this Sunday afternoon. Kicking off at 3pm, the event is open to everyone.
A description for the event reads: "We are hosting a public coffee tasting at High Coffee Bar, Rufus Court, Chester.
"We will taste coffees from the UK to Ukraine. then we will finish with coffee and Ukrainian honey cake. Reserve your place via Eventbrite. This is a community tasting initiative.
"We taste coffee, talk coffee and share coffee. Taste, learn, and connect with us."

Gladiators of Britain exhibition - Grosvenor Museum

The Grosvenor Museum is currently hosting a free exhibition from the British Museum all about the brutal history of gladiators.
A description for the event reads: "Step into the arena where gladiators once fought and died to thunderous crowds.
"This major touring exhibition brings together rare Roman artefacts that reveal the brutal spectacle of gladiatorial combat in ancient Britain – including extraordinary finds from Chester's own amphitheatre, the largest in the country.
"From the enslaved fighters who became unlikely celebrities to the vendors selling food to eager crowds, Gladiators of Britain reveals the human stories behind the helmets."

Headlock vintage clothing sale - Storyhouse - Sunday 30 November

Headlock Vintage is hosting a pop up at Storyhouse this Sunday.
From 10am-4pm, you can browse thousands of Grade A vintage clothing items from brands such Adidas, Nike, Levi's, Berghaus, The North Face, Puma, Harley Davidson, Ralph Lauren and more.
A description for the event reads: "We accept cash, contactless, apple pay, android pay, credit/debit cards and Amex.
"We recommend bringing your own bag. We restock our rails all day so the good stuff is there all day. 90% of what we sell is second hand so you may find the odd small mark or damage."

Winter wonder offer - The Deva Tap

Available via pre-booked tables only, you can get any two dishes (burgers or classics) and a bottle of wine for £39.95 at The Deva Tap as part of its winter wonder deal.
The deal runs until 6pm from Wednesday to Friday. There is a £4 supplement per person for 10oz sirloin.
The pub also offers 10% off from Wednesday to Friday until 6pm, and is also applicable to the pizza offer.
On Sunday from 12-2 pm, you can get two roasts (excluding trio) for £22 if pre booked. Or, you can get any two roasts including a trio and a cauliflower side for £29.95.
