Open Mic Night - The Deva Tap - Thursday 24 July

The Deva Tap is hosting an open mic night this evening (Thursday 24 July).

Kicking off at 7pm at the Brook Street pub, the event promises an evening of good music and even better beer.

A description for the event reads: "For those simply looking to enjoy an evening of live music, food will be served from until 8:30pm with a wide range of specialist beers from independent breweries also on offer.

"The Deva Tap prides itself on offering a variety of gluten-free and vegan options, as well as being a dog-friendly venue.

"With a free drink for every performer provided, budding musicians are encouraged to take part. "

Car Boot Sale - Chester - Sunday 27 July

This Sunday the Hospice of the Good Shepherd will host a car boot sale at the Bookers Chester car park on the Dunkirk Estate.

A description for the event reads: "As this is the third year running, we expect many visitors.

"There will be refreshments and toilets available. Get your bags packed, your tables and rails sorted and your change float ready for making money for old rope (really someone will probably need old rope!).

"Entry to the boot sale for buyers is £1."

Open Air Theatre 'Sherlock Holmes' - Grosvenor Park - Saturday 26 July

A brand new production of Sherlock Holmes comes to Grosvenor Park this Saturday 26 July.

Directed by rising star Ellie Hurt, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is part of the 2025 open-air season presented by Storyhouse.

The thrilling play is set in modern-day Chester, bringing the legendary detective to life in a special way.

Written especially for Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, the production follows detective Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson as they are drawn into their most intriguing and personal mystery yet.

Big Fat Quiz On The Roof - Rooftop Social Club - Sunday 27 July

Rooftop Social Club's weekly quiz is back this Sunday evening with a cash prize up for grabs.

A description for the event reads: "The Big Fat Quiz on the Roof is BACK from 7pm – and so is your chance to bag up to £250 cash!

"Think you've got the brains? Round up your team, bring your best trivia skills and we'll see you on the Roof.

"Enjoy great prizes, great food and great drinks. As well as a cash first prize, there's bar tabs, pizza, Prosecco and more up for grabs."
