Salt House Tapas Chester welcomed customers to its Bridge Street restaurant for the first time today (Tuesday 26 November).

The independently-run restaurant opened its first location in Liverpool in 2010. It has now chosen to expand in Chester, taking over the former Boheme site.

Creating 24 jobs, with space for 90 guests inside, the restaurant will be open from 12pm daily and features a charcuterie station, alongside a bar area and open front kitchen.

The site has also been made fully accessible, and will be its first restaurant outside of Liverpool.

Co-owner of Salt House Tapas, Matt Robinson, said: "Chester has a vibrant food scene and we're thrilled to bring our unique tapas experience to such a beautiful and historic city.

"We can't wait to welcome guests to our new home on Bridge Street."

Luke Creedon was the executive chef of the Liverpool Salt House Tapas for eight years, before taking ownership alongside Matt earlier this year as co-owner.

Luke said: "The city's food scene is thriving and we can't wait to share our passion for tapas with the local community.

"Our focus will be on maintaining the same high standards of food, drink and service that we've become known for in Liverpool, whilst embedding ourselves in the city's vibrant hospitality scene".

The tapas restaurant will serve seasonal and contemporary tapas dishes, from a menu created by head chef Laszlo Nagy, who was a semi-finalist in the North West heats of the BBC's Great British Menu, and has over 13 years of experience under his belt.
