Residents voice concerns over plans for homes near Cheshire village

Homes could be built on the outskirts of a village near Chester if plans are given the go-ahead.
Cheshire West and Chester Council planners will rule on a 'permission in principle' application for nine properties on land off Shire Way in Tattenhall.
The scheme by Lexwood Developments includes a mix of both market homes and 'affordable' properties.
The site comprises part of an enclosed grassed paddock located on the edge of Tattenhall and consists of part of a grassed field located to the rear of existing residential development off Shire Way.
A planning application said: "The scheme would provide a combination of private and affordable housing units to meet the needs of the growing population in a form which is appropriate to its setting."
The proposed access into the site would be via the existing estate road from Shire Way through the current housing estate.
But objections have been lodged with the council, with one letter claiming it has been submitted on behalf of the residents of Shire Way, stating: "As nearby residents, the proposed development site lies directly behind and adjacent to established homes in the area.
"The proposal raises a number of serious planning concerns relating to the principle of development, settlement pattern, environmental impact, infrastructure capacity, and conflict with planning policy."
The term 'permission in principle' applies to housing-led developments of up to nine properties and is a potentially faster, more streamlined way of getting a development through as opposed to applying for regular planning permission.
According to the plans, each new home is envisaged to have at least two car parking spaces. It said: "The site forms part of a paddock that is well enclosed by established hedgerows and mature boundary trees.
"In visual terms, the land is read in close association with the existing residential development off Shire Way and is largely screened from wider public vantage points."
The plans can be viewed on the council's planning portal under the following reference number: 26/00716/PIP
