Popular Chester busker returns to Town Hall stage

A well-known Chester busker recently performed at Chester Town Hall - with two more performances set to take place this month.
Violinist Philip Chidell, who is often seen performing in the shadow of Chester's iconic Eastgate Clock, led a concert featuring his own 18-piece orchestra.
The packed audience, which included the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr. Razia Daniels, was treated to a varied and entertaining programme.

Highlights included the 'Nessun Dorma', Strauss waltzes and timeless favourites from film and musical theatre.
In a surprise appearance, Chester Male Voice Choir joined Philip and his orchestra on stage, delivering moving renditions of 'Tell My Father', 'Danny Boy' and 'Loch Lomond'.
Philip and his orchestra will return to Chester Town Hall on Saturday 24 May for two further performances, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Reflecting on the first concert, Philip said: "There's something truly special about performing music with this young and talented orchestra in such a beautiful, historic venue.

"The warmth and enthusiasm of the audience was unforgettable, and the orchestra and I can't wait to return with more wonderful music.
"For those who prefer a daytime performance, our matinée will be the perfect way to spend a spring afternoon."
In recent years, Philip has become a much-loved performer on the streets of Chester, entertaining residents and visitors alike.
Chester Male Voice Choir is an award-winning ensemble known for its wide-ranging repertoire.
The choir, led by its Musical Director Joe Mann, has performed for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the Royal Family, as well as featuring on both television and radio.
