Plans have been submitted for a new 'competitive socialising venue' in Chester city centre.

Spinners Chester, part of the wider Spinners Group, has submitted a licensing application to Cheshire West and Chester Council to create a competitive socialising venue where guests can take part in bowling and interactive games.

Seeking to fill the unit at 11 - 13 Frodsham Street, the company 'reimagines classic favourites' such as bowling, darts, clay shooting, and mini golf.

With three other sites across the country including Plymouth, Solihul and Reading, it seeks to create a 'one-of-a-kind experience' where people can challenge their friends and family with interactive games.

Its existing locations also offer a bottomless brunch.

If approved, the venue will feature a full cocktail bar and food provision. Its proposed opening hours are listed as 11am to 10:30pm from Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.

On Wednesday and Thursday the venue would be open until 11:30pm, and Friday and Saturday the site would close an hour later.

The company describes competitive socialising as 'the perfect escape from everyday life', whilst enjoying 'handcrafted cocktails and delicious food'.

It said: "We've reimagined classic favourites like bowling, darts, clay shooting, and mini golf, giving them a fresh spin. Surrounded by stunning décor and a lively, intimate atmosphere, Spinners offers a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone. It's all about great vibes and good times."

The unit was formerly home to Poundland, which relocated to Foregate Street in 2023.
