The first Chester Repair Cafe of 2026 will arrive at a new venue this month.

The next repair event will take place at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church on Saturday 24 January.

The monthly event welcomes members of the public to bring any broken or faulty items in a bid to reduce waste and save people money in the process.

A skilled team of volunteers will be on hand to fix a range of items, such as toasters, trikes, computers and clothes.

Running from 10.30am to 12.30pm, all repairs are free of charge but donations towards running costs are appreciated. It is also recommended that attendees only bring one item at a time.

The Repair Café concept arose in Amsterdam in 2009, and in 2010 the Repair Café International Foundation was formed.

It provides professional support to local groups around the world wishing to start their own Repair Cafe and supports the Repair Café in Chester.
