Chester will mark Remembrance Sunday next month with its annual parade.

On Sunday 9 November from 9.30am, a parade will make its way through the city centre, before reaching Chester Cathedral for a service of remembrance.

The service will start at 10.15am, and is followed by wreath laying at 10.45. A two minutes silence will then be held in the Chester Cathedral Gardens.

Across the country there will be people holding a two minutes silence to mark Remembrance Sunday, which usually falls on the second Sunday in November.

Remembrance Day marks the actual day World War One ended in 1918, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.

On Tuesday 11 November, there will be a short service to mark Remembrance Day, starting at 10.50am.

Taking place at Chester Cathedral Gardens, there will be prayers, a two minute silence and laying wreaths.
