Halloween Fancy Dress for Dogs & Ghost Walk - Chester Town Hall - Friday 31 October

There will be a halloween fancy dress competition for dogs this Friday.

Hector's Greyhound Rescue has teamed up with Chester Ghost Tours for a spine-tingling night of history, hauntings and hounds.

The description reads: "Follow flickering lanterns through Chester's shadowy streets, hear chilling tales of restless souls, ghostly figures and tragic histories.

"You will be guided by Chester's master storytellers, whilst raising funds for vet bills, food & kenneling.

"100% of proceeds will go to Hector's Greyhound Rescue. There are limited spaces so book early if you dare.

"Come for the ghostly tales, stay for the greyhound love because saving lives has never been so SPOOKY!"

Chester Castle is hosting a number of 'spooky ghost tours' this week.

The description reads: "Be Prepared to Be Scared" as you join us for a spooky ghost tour at Chester Castle.

"We will be telling the tales of the darker side of the castle's 900 year history.

"Spaces are limited so booking is essential. The tours are suitable for 12 year old's and upwards. 

"Tour times are 27,28,29, 30 October and 1 & 2 November. All tours start at 4:00 pm and last approx 1 hour."

The Grosvenor Museum is hosting craft sessions for children where they can create their own Roman fresco inspired comic strips.

The description for the event reads: "Join us at the Grosvenor Museum to get crafty creating your own Roman Fresco inspired comic strips.

"Taking inspiration from objects within the new touring "Gladiators of Britain" exhibition, create your own Gladiator character and immortalise it using your collage and craft skills!

"What does your Gladiator look like? Are they fighting a beast? Do they win or loose? A fun, family friendly session for everyone to get involved.

"This session is perfect for children aged 5+. All work is yours to take home and all materials are provided."

The Deva Tap is celebrating Halloween this week with an open mic night and themed quiz.

The description reads: "Ladies and gents, it's Halloween week, so get ready for some spooky specials from this Thursday and some drinks deals to die for.

"Open mic night is running as usual this Thursday, so if any of you fancy coming to sing the monster mash, we won't despair.

"We have a busy week of live sports and some spaces already filled up and some still being secured. So make sure you book as our busy periods tend to leave us/you with little free space available.

"At the quiz on Halloween night, the best dressed gets a free drink, with teams of up to six people. Prizes Bar Tab £25 for winner, with drinks offers on during the quiz. Starts 7.30pm until 9.30pm."

"It's the perfect day out for shopping, eating, and discovering unique treasures.
