Fudge Kitchen to open in Chester this month
By Dherran Titherington 7th Aug 2026
A new fudge shop is set to open in Chester city centre later this month.
Fudge Kitchen will open its doors at 6-8 Watergate Street in August, bringing its handmade fudge and live fudge-making demonstrations to the city.
Customers will be able to watch fudge being made in-store throughout the day, as well as sample freshly made products.
The Chester opening will mark the British confectionery brand's first new shop launch in around 10 years, taking its number of UK locations to seven. It joins existing stores in Bath, Canterbury, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Windsor and York.
Founded more than four decades ago, Fudge Kitchen became employee-owned in 2022 and says sustainability remains central to its operations.
The Chester store will be the company's first to run entirely on renewable energy, with electric cooking equipment powered by renewable sources.
Ian McCluskey, Fudge Kitchen retail director, said: "We are incredibly excited to be bringing Fudge Kitchen to Chester. The city's rich history, strong visitor economy and vibrant independent retail culture make it a natural home for our next chapter.
"Our shops are more than fudge shops. They're destinations where visitors can experience traditional craft skills in action, meet passionate makers and discover the story behind every batch."
The company added that it plans to work with local businesses, tourism organisations and community groups once the new store opens.
