Emergency services respond to welfare concerns in Chester

Emergency services were called to Chester's Old Dee Bridge in the early hours of Friday morning following concerns for the welfare of a man.
Cheshire Police were called to the Lower Bridge Street end of the bridge at 5.22am on Friday 17 July, after receiving reports raising concerns for the man's welfare.
Two fire engines from Chester attended the scene, alongside one fire engine each from Congleton, Powey Lane and Lymm. The rescue boat from Powey Lane was also mobilised, with the fire service arriving at around 5.30am.
Officers, supported by firefighters, engaged with the man, who was subsequently taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews were mobilised to assist police colleagues helping a person in crisis.
"No rescue was required and the person is now safe."
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "Officers attended, with support of firefighters, and engaged with the man who was subsequently taken to hospital."
