Emergency road closure in place following severe damage

An emergency road closure has been put in place after a carriageway was "severely damaged" on Ermine Road.

Ermine Road, Chester, at its junction with Brook Lane has been closed off, after a water main burst yesterday morning (26 June) - causing significant damage to the road.

The council has confirmed no properties have been affected, but repairs should take several days "due to the extent of the damage to the carriageway."

A Severn Trent Spokesperson said: "Our teams have now repaired a burst pipe on Ermine Road in Chester.

Cheshire West and Chester Council has said delays are possible (Nub News)

"We will do a full assessment of the road and hope to remove traffic management as soon as possible when the area is made safe and back to normal again.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
