Cooking oil disrupts Chester park run for second weekend in a row

For the second weekend in a row, cooking oil has been spilt on the footpaths in the Countess of Chester Country Park, which is used for the Chester park run.
Andy Scargill, chair of Friends of Countess Country Park, confirmed the news over social media.
He said: "For the third Saturday in a row, someone has poured cooking oil onto paths in the Countess Country Park.
"We think this is probably someone with a grudge against the park run.
"This is totally antisocial, dangerous and affects other park users too.
"If anyone has any information could they contact the Police on 101 and copy in the Friends of the Country Park at [email protected]."
Police are appealing to the public following the first reports of cooking oil being 'deliberately spilt' at the Countess of Chester Country Park last weekend.
At around 9am on Saturday 22 February, police were called to reports of anti-social behaviour at the park.
The caller reported that cooking oil had been deliberately spilt on a number of footpaths.
Consequently, the Chester park run, which was set to take place the same day, had to be cancelled.
Enquiries regarding the incident are ongoing.
Cheshire Police have appealed to the public, asking anyone with any information to call Cheshire Police on 101, or visit here, quoting IML 2032798.
