Chester trains starting to resume following severe disruption

Chester line services across the Merseyrail network are beginning to resume following severe disruption this morning (Thursday 9 January).
Some services may still be cancelled or delayed, with customers advised to check the website for updates.
In a statement on X, Merseyrail said: "Rail services are now beginning to resume across the Merseyrail network.
"Whilst we work to restore the normal timetable, trains are subject to short notice cancellation and delay."
