Lower Bridge Street is about to get its newest "go-to" healthy food spot.

Guests can expect to find açai bowls, smoothies and matcha at The Açai Grove on 72 Lower Bridge Street.

Taking over the former Bridge Street Barbers, the spot is a new addition for Chester, specialising in healthy food and drink.

Co-owner, Connie Kidd, who has over 100,000 followers on TikTok, announced a provisional April opening date for the cafe.

Açai, pronounced ah-sigh-ee, is a berry found on açai palm trees in South African rainforests, primarily in Brazil.

It is often used to create frozen smoothie bowls with a dark purple colour, providing a rich source of antioxidants.

Açai bowls are usually topped with chopped fruit, granola and some kind of nut butter - such as peanut or almond.

Set to open this easter, you can find the The Açai Grove on Instagram to follow its journey.
