Chester station pub enters final week of £50k fundraising campaign

The Chester Station Tap Room has now hit the £45,000 mark for its project crowdfunding.
This week signals the last chance to donate to the project, which seeks to take over an unused section of Chester Railway Station and revamp the historic grade II listed building.
The pub would create 20 jobs in the area and is set to open this Easter.
A fundraiser was set up to transform the location into 'the best beer bar in Chester', with a set goal of £50,000.
It has now surpassed the £45,000 mark, with just a matter of days left to hit the target number.
A spokesperson for the pub said: "Just one week remains in our Crowdfunding campaign as we enter the final stages of the Chester Station Tap Opening.
"We're still on track to open for Easter but your support is crucial to bringing our vision for this beautiful building to life.
"Remember, if we don't reach our goal, you get your pledge back."
Owners of the new pub venture, 'Spitting Feathers', opened The Brewery Tap on Lower Bridge Street as its first pub in the city back in 2008.

Remaining cautiously optimistic, Matthew Walley, director of Spitting Feathers, spoke to Chester Nub News about the fundraising efforts.
He said: "We thought people may want to support us in bringing this beautiful building back into use and give the station and Chester's residents and visitors the kind of hospitality venue the station deserves.
"Every penny will go into this pub project; It's going to be absolutely ace boozer.
"It seems like it's exactly what the area needs."
