Schott's 50th Birthday Bash
The Carlton Tavern
Music
1 Nov 2025
Saturday 1 November

It would be an absolute honour if you could join me to help celebrate my 50th birthday.
I'm taking it all back to the beginning by putting on a little shindig at The Carlton Tavern.
We've had such amazing events there over the past decade it only felt right to do it there.
We have the music.
We have the psychedelic visuals.
We have the buffet.
Now I just need YOU!
The Music:
Sword-Swinging Robot:
Sword Swinging Robot carves out a jagged groove in the electronic underground, blending glitchy textures with cinematic flair and a touch of retro-futurist mischief.
Matt's sound feels like a neon-lit duel between analog nostalgia and digital chaos; synth stabs clash like blades, while distorted beats march with robotic precision.
Whether channeling arcade-era adrenaline or ambient introspection, Sword Swinging Robot crafts sonic landscapes that are both playful and provocative, inviting listeners to dance, reflect, or simply get lost in the circuitry.
Think Kraftwerk meets Mortal Kombat, with a dash of DIY punk ethos.
31 Atlas:
31 Atlas is a psychedelic breakbeat combo featuring Dan Schott, Vince Cory, and Shem Sharples. Hard beats meet psychedelics in an unravelling cosmic circus.
Andy Peggs:
Andy Peggs is a Chester-based sonic storyteller whose music pulses with raw emotion and northern grit. Blending indie sensibilities with ambient textures and a touch of lo-fi charm, Peggs crafts tunes that feel like late-night walks through quiet streets....introspective, grounded, and quietly defiant.
Whether performing solo or collaborating within Chester's creative circles, Peggs brings a warmth and authenticity that resonates beyond genre, making him a vital thread in the city's musical tapestry.
Amos:
Ryan Amos brings a sharp lyrical edge to Chester's hip-hop scene, weaving local stories with global rhythms and a poet's precision.
His flow is fluid but grounded, equal parts streetwise and introspective, delivering verses that speak to identity, resilience, and the pulse of everyday life.
Whether he's spitting over jazz-infused beats or minimalist trap textures, Amos commands attention with a voice that's unmistakably his own.
He's not just rapping; he's archiving emotion, memory, and place, making him a vital voice in the city's evolving soundscape.
Richard Starbuck will be bringing the mad psychedelic projections and visuals.
The Carlton Landlady Debbie Miller will be bringing the buffet to soak up the booze and music.
NO cards or presents required! Just bring yourselves and let's once again, create another little bit of local music history!
Let's do this!
