Friday Night Comedy - Alexander's Live - Friday 2 January

Friday Night Comedy at Alexander's Live brings the very best comedians from the UK and beyond to Rufus Court.
A description for the event reads: "The only weekly comedy night in the city FRIDAY NIGHT COMEDY will keep the laughs coming thick and fast week after week. For each show we provide four brilliant comedians hand-picked to give you the best night out for the lowest possible price.
"We also have our amazing bar, offering a huge selection of craft beers, ales, lagers, wine, gin, rum, whiskey, cocktails, soft drinks and much, much more.

New Year Roman Zumba - Chester Amphitheatre - Saturday 3 January

Start the new year as you mean to go on with a one-of-a-kind Zumba experience.
A description for the event reads: "Swap the studio for the stones of history and feel the energy of centuries past as you dance where Romans once gathered. This is fitness with a historical twist that you won't find anywhere else in Chester!
"No need to book, these are drop-in sessions. Just turn up and join in! Suitable for all ages and abilities, no prior experience is needed.
"All children must remain accompanied throughout, adults don't have to join in, but we can't guarantee our Gladiator won't encourage you to!
"Weather permitting event – alternative indoor location provided if needed. Bring water, comfortable shoes, and your best gladiator spirit!"
Author Event - books on the walls - Saturday 3 January

Books on the walls is hosting another author event this Saturday.
A description for the event reads: "Are you wondering what a watercolour, a book, a dragon, a rose, mugs and tea could have in common? Are you trying to figure out what exactly the small red dragon (whose name is Dougal by the way) is pointing at?
"If the answer to one or all of these questions is: possibly... then why don't you join Olivia Merrydale who will be reading from her novel Rosie and the Secret of the Snogard - a story for children and adults - and introducing us to Rosie and Fridolin, a very competent gardening dragon.
"Allow yourself to get drawn into a world of gardens, dragons, enchantments, curses and countless cups of tea."
Lanterns & Light - Chester Zoo

Chester Zoo's 'Lanterns & Light' outdoor light experience ends this Saturday 3 January.
A description for the event reads: "This winter, Chester Zoo will transform after dark into a glowing winter wonderland of light, colour and sound.
"Interact with playful puppets, drift through the Ribbon Tunnel, gaze at kaleidoscope stars and explore the Laser Garden - plus discover new installations for 2025, including Airquarium, Bubble Walk and Submergence.
"Enjoy seasonal street food, warming drinks and make magical Christmas memories with loved ones."
Beauty and The Beast - Storyhouse - Friday 2 – Sunday 4 January

There isn't long left to catch Beauty and the Beast at Storyhouse, with the show running until Sunday 4 January.
A description for the event reads: "Join us for a magical Christmas show bursting with pop favourites, laughter, and unforgettable moments, all wrapped up in a heartwarming story for the whole family.
"With enchanting characters, spectacular surprises, and plenty of chances to cheer, sing, and dance along, this Christmas show is sure to leave you spellbound. Prepare for a roaring good time! "
