Two men have been charged after a man was seriously assaulted twice in one day in Chester city centre.

On Saturday 13 September, police were called to reports that a 40-year-old local man had been assaulted twice in the city.

The incidents are reported to have taken place at 1.10pm near to the Best-One store on the A51, Boughton, and at 3.10pm outside the Corner House on City Road, Chester.

Following enquiries, two local men were arrested in relation to the incidents.

Connor Jones, 26, of Roman Crescent, Chester, has since been charged with one court of section 18 assault (grievous bodily harm with intent).

John Moore, 62, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of section 18 assault (wounding with intent) and one count of breaching a criminal behaviour order.

Both men have been denied bail and are set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Monday 15 September.
