Chester's Storyhouse will host Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show next month as part of its latest UK tour.

With a touring cast led by Stephen Webb as Dr Frank-N-Furter, the production will run at the venue from 30 June to 4 July.

The story follows college sweethearts Brad and Janet, whose journey takes an unexpected turn when their car breaks down during a storm, leading them to a mysterious mansion and a series of bizarre encounters.

First staged in London in 1973, The Rocky Horror Show has since been seen by more than 35 million people worldwide.

The musical, created by Richard O'Brien as a tribute to the science fiction and horror B-movies of the 1940s to 1970s, features songs including Dammit Janet, Sweet Transvestite and Time Warp.

The stage production later inspired the 1975 film adaptation The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which starred Tim Curry as Frank-N-Furter and Richard O'Brien as Riff Raff.

Joining Webb in the touring production are Jackie Clune, known for her role in Motherland, as the Narrator, James Bisp as Brad and Haley Flaherty as Janet. Ryan Carter-Wilson plays Riff Raff, Laura Bird appears as Magenta/Usherette, Daisy Steere as Columbia, Morgan Jackson as Rocky and Edward Bullingham as Eddie/Dr Scott

The production is directed by Christopher Luscombe, with design by Hugh Durrant, costumes by Sue Blaine and choreography by Nathan M Wright. Lighting design is by Nick Richings and sound design by Gareth Owen.
