Award-winning home care service, Belong at Home Chester, is bringing more of its specialist dementia care to older people across Cheshire.

Focusing on areas including Christleton, Tattenhall, and Waverton, the move marks the not-for-profit operator's first foray outside the city centre and its fringes.

The highly trained teams support customers to maintain independence as much as possible.

It offers services such as personal care, household chores and companionship to people in their homes - alongside those residing independently in apartments at Belong Chester.

The team operates from the City Road site, the region's first intergenerational care village where the joy of older residents and children sharing experiences and everyday life together can be seen and heard.

The latter attend The Nursery in Belong, operated by national charity, Ready Generations, and spend much time with their 'grandfriends', including customers of Belong at Home Chester.

Last year, the Chester service achieved recognition with a finalist placement for Home Care Team of the Year at the regional Great British Care Awards.

One Belong at Home Chester customer commented on leading reviews website, homecare.co.uk: "This service has been a lifeline for our dad who cares for our mum full time at home – mum has vascular dementia ... Dad couldn't have got through the past few months without services provided by Belong at Home."

Andrew Shield, head of operations for Belong at Home, said: "Since launching our Chester service over three years ago, we've become well-established in the community, and we are pleased to be able to respond to demand by widening assistance to more people in rural Cheshire. We invite anyone who needs a helping hand to get in touch with us."

Belong at Home operates across the region with sister services in areas including Crewe, Macclesfield, south Manchester, and north Staffordshire. It is the only not-for-profit operator to achieve a place in the homecare.co.uk UK Top 20 home care group every year since 2018, based on customer reviews.
