A care village operator with a location in Chester has been listed as one of the UK's top care groups.

Belong, a specialist dementia care village, has been listed as a Top 20 Mid-size Care Home Group by leading online review site, Carehome.co.uk. 

Based on verified customer reviews, Belong has achieved an average review score of 9.8 out of 10 across its eight North West villages for the past year.

Based on City Road, Belong Chester has also achieved a respective score of 9.9. 

Customers leaving reviews are asked to rate all aspects of a care home's offering - including its people, care and support, management, facilities, and overall value for money.

One five-star review from the daughter of a resident at Belong Chester cited the "professional, kind and thoughtful staff" at the Bridgegate Household, who made the "difficult" decision to move her mum much easier.

"Mum settled much better than I expected," she said. "The intergenerational focus is embedded into Belong has made a significant difference to my mum's life. Staff know her well and with their support, she has regained her confidence.

"There is a lot of laughter and warmth. Staff always look happy to be at work, and they have time to listen and respond to any concerns. Belong supports the whole family, and we couldn't recommend them highly enough."
