Man banned from Chester city centre

A man has been banned from Chester city centre.
On Thursday 19 March 2026, Daniel Curtis, from North Wales, appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court, where a two year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) was granted.
Officers had secured evidence of Curtis repeatedly approaching members of the public and asking for money, stating he would transfer back to them via a bank transfer. However, the money was never received.
Now, under the terms of a two-year CBO, the 35-year-old must not enter Chester city centre or Deva Retail Park, as per the exclusion map areas.
The CBO also means he must also not approach members of the public to request money or encourage them to give him money.
"Curtis has been a persistent problem in the Chester area and these conditions will help to protect the public from his behaviour, and allow us to take swift action if he breaches them," said Inspector James Wilson.
"This should also send out a strong message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated. If anyone witnesses Curtis breaching his CBO, please contact Cheshire Police on 101 or through our website to report it."
