A Chester-based home care team has been shortlisted for a major regional award recognising excellence in the care sector.

Belong at Home Chester is among the finalists in this year's Stars of Social Care Awards, recognising its work helping older people live independently and enjoy later life.

Part of the not-for-profit Belong group, the service specialises in dementia care and supports customers with everything from personal care and household tasks to shopping and attending appointments.

The team also helps people stay active and connected with their community through activities such as birdwatching, visits to Chester Zoo and walks along the River Dee.

On June 12, the Chester team will travel to London for the awards final, hosted by ITV This Morning presenter Josie Gibson, with winners chosen by a panel of industry judges.

Since launching just over 18 months ago, Belong at Home Chester has established itself across Chester and surrounding areas, with an experienced team supporting customers in the city centre, nearby neighbourhoods and parts of rural Cheshire.

The service is also open to apartment tenants residing at Belong Chester.

Customers can additionally access the village's facilities, including its bistro, specialist gym and salon, as well as take part in a varied programme of events and activities.

The latest recognition follows another recent accolade, with Belong at Home Chester reaching the final of the Home Care Team of the Year category at the Great British Care Awards 2025.

Positive feedback from customers has also helped Belong at Home services across the region secure a place in homecare.co.uk's Top 20 UK Home Care Group rankings.
