By Dherran Titherington 8th Jun 2026
Chester Green Festival will return this weekend, bringing a free programme of talks, workshops and family-friendly activities focused on sustainability.
The festival takes place on Sunday 14 June across Chester Town Hall and Picturehouse as part of the national Great Big Green Week campaign.
Running from 10.30am to 7pm, the event will feature expert speakers, interactive workshops, eco-focused stalls, repair and reuse initiatives, arts activities and community discussions.
Visitors can also take part in hands-on activities covering topics including food, nature, circular living, community resilience and reducing waste.
Organised by Eco Communities UK, the festival will bring together local organisations, businesses, artists, campaigners and community groups to share ideas and practical solutions for more sustainable living.
Helen Tandy, founding director of Eco Communities UK, said: "Chester Green Festival brings people together to explore practical, positive ways we can create a greener future for our communities.
"We want people to leave feeling inspired and empowered – whether that's discovering a local project, learning a new skill, making small changes at home or simply having conversations about the future we want for Chester."
The festival aims to encourage residents to take practical steps towards a greener future while connecting with local projects and organisations already making a difference across the city.
