A number of Cheshire College students have been recognised for their 'outstanding' achievements at the college's annual Student Awards.

The event serves as a celebration of exceptional academic, vocational, and personal accomplishments.

Awards were presented across a broad range of subjects, including engineering, business, health and social care, construction, sport, science, arts, maths and more.

Jasbir Dhesi OBE, principal and CEO of Cheshire College, described the annual awards as "one of the highlights" of the academic year.

He added: "They provide an opportunity to celebrate the hard work, determination and achievements of our students, both inside and outside the classroom.

"Each award winner has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their studies and personal development, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. We look forward to seeing what they achieve next as they continue their education and careers."

Connah Proudman, who returned to college as an adult and described the experience as "life-changing", secured the Higher Education Student of the Year award.

They said: "I'm very proud of myself and grateful that my tutors put me forward for the award. It has been hard but it amazing."

Travel and Tourism Student of the Year winner Christopher Williamson, added: "I never in a million years thought I would have won an award, so to be standing here is amazing.

"Since the first day I joined the College, it has been amazing. I've never had a bad experience, and you always get the support you need."

The celebrations will continue at the College's Crewe Campus, where students from across the college's third site will also be recognised for their achievements. The Student Awards reflect Cheshire College's commitment to recognising excellence and supporting students to achieve their ambitions, both during their studies and beyond.
