The Wyldewoods, an independent retirement community in Chester, is gearing up to launch a contemporary restaurant open to the public.

As part of Retirement Villages Group's Thrive Living collection, the village sets a new benchmark for independent retirement living - with residents able to enjoy access to a range of premium hotel-inspired amenities.

Ahead of the formal opening of The Wyldewoods' new restaurant SAGE, we sat down with general manager Adam Tomlinson, who shared the significance of the recent development.

"SAGE is a stylish and contemporary restaurant within The Wyldewoods community, which is open to the public," he told Chester Nub News.

"This will be a very special celebration for our residents, neighbours and wider Chester community,"

Led by head chef James Lippiat, who brings over two decades of experience in some of Chester's most popular restaurants and gastro pubs, the restaurant will focus on quality and seasonal ingredients.

On this theme, the menu will be adapted often to highlight the best produce at each time of the year.

Adam brings extensive experience to his new role at The Wyldewoods. As a Chester local, he hopes to combine his own love for hospitality with a chance to make a meaningful impact in a community he already calls home.

"My passion for hospitality and creating spaces where people feel truly at home has shaped my entire career," he said.

"Seeing people walk through our doors and form genuine connections is very special. Later living offers a unique opportunity to enrich everyday lives - not just through events, but through meaningful, lasting experiences."

Boasting hotel style amenities, an onsite restaurant and a vibrant events calendar, the general manager described the retirement community as "more than just a place to live".

Adam added: "We promote independence, connection, and a sense of belonging. It's a space where people can truly thrive in an exciting next chapter of life."
