Folk and acoustic night - St Mary's Creative Space - Thursday 21 May

An evening of live folk music will take place at St Mary's Creative Space on Thursday 21 May.
Robin Adams is a Scottish singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist, known for his rich folk songwriting and acclaimed catalogue of albums including Wrong Road Home and Sun Behind The Storm.
Sam Grassie is a Scottish fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter whose music blends traditional folk with blues influences, earning him a growing reputation on the UK folk circuit through both solo work and touring collaborations.
Calum Gilligan is a Liverpool-based folk singer-songwriter whose music draws on Celtic tradition and American folk influences, with lyrics shaped by themes of place, memory, and personal storytelling.

HandCrafted Market - Eastgate Square - Saturday 23 May

The HandCrafted Market returns to Eastgate Square this weekend.
This Saturday 23 May, attendees can expected a curated line-up of independent makers selling a range of handmade products - including gifts, homeware, and artwork by local makers and independent creatives.
A description for the event reads: "No reselling. No mass-produced stock. Just small businesses that make what they sell.
"If you like shopping small and supporting real makers, the Chester Market is one to add to your calendar."
Steve Backshall at Chester Zoo - Until 31 May

World-renowned wildlife conservationist Steve Backshall will host a brand-new live stage show about sharks at Chester Zoo, beginning this weekend.
Running from 23–31 May, the new show will take visitors on a fascinating journey into the lives and ancient origins of sharks - some of the planet's most extraordinary and misunderstood predators.
During each 30-minute live performance, audiences will travel back in time to explore the earliest sharks that once swam our shorelines, discover how they have evolved over millions of years, and learn what makes them such remarkable animals today.

Northern Chamber Orchestra Quartet - Hoole Community Centre - Saturday 23 May

Hoole Community Centre will host an intimate evening of music performed by the soloists of the Northern Chamber Orchestra this weekend.
As the longest established professional Chamber Orchestra in the North West, the Northern Chamber Orchestra (NCO) has a longstanding reputation for outstanding performances and world-class collaborations.
Taking place on Saturday 23 May, this event will offer an opportunity to see the orchestra in a "pared down format". You can find tickets and more here.
Sunday roast offer - The Deva Tap

Every Sunday, The Deva Tap serves up a "roast and drink for two" offer, where diners can enjoy any two roasts and two selected drinks for just £35.
With the Brook Street pub noted for stocking specialist beers from independent breweries, the offer includes any cask ale or a medium glass of wine.
Guests can choose from a range of roast options, including beef, chicken, gammon, a trio of meats, or a nut roast. Each dish is served with roast potatoes, carrot and swede mash, roast parsnips, seasonal greens, a Yorkshire pudding, chive and onion stuffing, and unlimited gravy.
