Open mic night - The Deva Tap - Thursday 7 August
The Deva Tap is hosting its open mic night at 7pm this evening (Thursday 7 August)
With a free drink for every performer provided, budding musicians are encouraged to take part. Professional sound equipment is also provided, with the Deva Tap providing the amp, speakers and mics.
For those simply looking to enjoy an evening of live music, food will be served until 8:30pm with a wide range of specialist beers from independent breweries also on offer.
The Deva Tap prides itself on offering a variety of gluten-free and vegan options, as well as being a dog-friendly venue.

Alice in Wonderland theatre experience - Grosvenor Park - Friday 8 August
The Alice in Wonderland 'magical walkabout theatre experience takes place in Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.
The daytime experience encourages young audiences to follow Lewis Carroll's fantastical story across the Grosvenor Park festival site, meeting a cast of brilliant larger-than-life characters along the way before an enchanting finale inside the theatre space itself.
Directed by Alexander McGonagle with choreography by Hannah Blakeley, prepare to encounter the Mad Hatter, Caterpillar, Cheshire Cat, White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts and Alice herself.

Food market - Carriage Shed - Saturday 9 August
This Saturday (9 August) Chester's largest outdoor food and craft market will return to the Carriage Shed.
Boasting over 90 artisan traders and food vendors, the free event will take place on City Road, just next to Chester train station.
The market will feature a full bar, a fresh coffee stand, hot food, hand-made baked goods and live music.
Kicking off at 10am, it runs until 4pm and attendees are also welcome to bring their dogs to the family-friendly event.

Afterglow - Chester Zoo - Saturday 9 August
Fancy seeing some of the world's most endangered species during golden hour? You can do just that at Afterglow.
A description for the event reads: "Afterglow will offer guests the unique chance to encounter some of the world's most endangered species during golden hour, which, for many animals, is one of their most active periods.
"Life-sized prehistoric dinosaur puppets will roam the zoo with full theatrical performances and interactive meet-and-greets throughout each evening.
"Other new additions this year include a silent disco, giant inflatables, a Master Lego Builder experience, and an array of roaming performers – including acrobats, jugglers and stilt walkers.
"Zoo members go free but must pre-book in advance."

Big Fat Quiz On The Roof - Rooftop Social Club - Sunday 10 August
Rooftop Social Club hosts a weekly quiz every Sunday evening, with a cash prize up for grabs.
A description for the event reads: "The Big Fat Quiz on the Roof is BACK from 7pm – and so is your chance to bag up to £250 cash!
"Think you've got the brains? Round up your team, bring your best trivia skills and we'll see you on the Roof.
