The Deva Tap is hosting an open mic night this evening (Thursday 10 July).

Kicking off at 7pm at the Brook Street pub, the event promises an evening of good music and even better beer.

A description for the event reads: "For those simply looking to enjoy an evening of live music, food will be served from until 8:30pm with a wide range of specialist beers from independent breweries also on offer.

"The Deva Tap prides itself on offering a variety of gluten-free and vegan options, as well as being a dog-friendly venue.

"With a free drink for every performer provided, budding musicians are encouraged to take part. "

Chester's largest artisan market returns to the city this Saturday 12 July, featuring a range of food, drink, coffee and artisan traders and food vendors.

A description for the event reads: "Popping up at the Carriage Shed in Chester, right next to the train station, this is a FREE ENTRY event and also doggy friendly.

"There will be a full bar, fresh coffee, hot food and live music - what more could you ask for. See you there.

"This really is a great family day out jam packed with fun and entertainment in a traditional bustling market environment."

It will run from 10am- 4pm on City Road at the Carriage Shed, by Chester Train Station.

Pride and Prejudice returns to Grosvenor Park this Saturday 12 July.

A description for the event reads: "Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre is a much-anticipated part of the summer in Chester.

"This summer, in the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth, her most famous love story is brought to vibrant life once again at Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.  

"Adapted for stage by Deborah McAndrew and directed by Conrad Nelson, the Regency tale won acclaim from both critics and audiences when it first premiered in 2021.

"The Grosvenor Park festival site includes a tepee bar, seating areas, fresh wood-fired pizzas, barbecue, craft beers and frozen cocktails."
