Father's Day at The Deva Tap - Chester - Sunday 15 June

The Deva Tap is doing a special food service this Sunday 15 June for father's Day.

With their usual Sunday roasts available too, the pub is offering a "BBQ Blowout" brought to you by award winning butcher, Dave Joinson.

A description for this event reads: "The New Deva Tap and award winning butcher Dave joinson bring to you a sharer to remember.

"Get your taste buds ready for flame grilled ribeye steak (GF), flame grilled rump steak (GF), flame grilled gammon steak (GF), mini sausages, chicken tenders (GF) and deep fried crispy chicken wings (GF).

"Sides include roast potatoes or fries (Choice of) (GF), greens, stuffing, carrot 'n' swede mash - or salad and slaw."

"Available via pre-booked tables only, with bookings taken up until Friday 13th June 6pm (MINIMUM 2 pax per sharer)."

This Saturday (14 June) Chester Food and Craft festival is taking over the Carriage Shed on City Road for a free family-friendly event from 10am to 4pm.

A description for this event reads: "Join us on Saturday 14 June, for a fun-filled day at the Carriage Shed.

"From 10:00am to 4:00pm, enjoy a FREE, family-friendly festival brimming with sunny vibes, artisan shopping, delicious food, live music, and a buzzing atmosphere.

"Hosted by The Trader Markets, this monthly festival showcases the North West's finest makers, offering everything from handmade crafts and unique homeware to beautiful jewellery and artwork.

"Food lovers will delight in the incredible selection of street food vendors, serving up irresistible dishes, all while enjoying live local music.

"Plus, the venue is dog-friendly, so bring along your four-legged companions to join in the fun!"

Tower Tour at Chester Cathedral - Saturday 14 June

Sessions on Saturdays start at 11 am, 1 pm & 3 pm (Nub News)

Starting this Friday (13 June), attendees can see Chester from up high and experience Chester Cathedral as never before.

Running until 30 September, sessions on Saturdays start at 11 am, 1 pm & 3 pm.

A description for this event reads: "The award-winning Cathedral at Height Tour will take you to usually inaccessible areas within the Cathedral.

"Listen to tales of the Cathedral's 900-year history as you are guided up the spiral staircase immersing yourself in the unique blend of medieval and modern history.

"When you reach the top of the Cathedral Tower you are rewarded with views of one city, two countries and five counties!"

'Trench Art: Creativity in the face of conflict' - Cheshire Military Museum - Chester

Cheshire Military Museum recently unveiled its newest temporary exhibition - highlighting the creativity of soldiers at war.

A description for the event reads: "Trench Art: Creativity in the face of conflict dates from any period, covers a huge variety of materials and media.

"It seeks to explore the experiences of soldiers, prisoners, the wounded, carers and civilians during conflict - predominantly focusing on the First World War.

"The exhibition includes objects from our existing collection like Draughts pieces and shell cases."

The project runs until Autumn and Cheshire Military Museum is open Thursday to Sundays, 11am to 4pm.

Last entry is at 3.30pm.

Observation wheel - Grosvenor Park - Chester

You can enjoy views of Chester this weekend from the big wheel situated in Grosvenor Park, running until 2 November.

A description for this event reads: "Enjoy breathtaking views of Chester from the big wheel situated in Chester's Grosvenor Park and experience 360° views of the surrounding area, with views of up to ten to twelve miles on a clear day from a height of 35 metres.

"The wheel will have 24 gondolas each holding up to six people, with some gondolas able to accommodate a wheelchair or mobility scooter user and two people.

"Book your tickets online or at the site on the day.

"Adult tickets are priced at £7.80, with children and 60+ tickets priced at £5.90.

"A family of four costs £24.50, which includes a minimum of two rotations to take in the views."
