Serious assault in Chester leaves 20-year-old woman with spinal injuries

Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man they are looking to speak to, after a woman was seriously assaulted in Chester City centre.

The incident occurred sometime between 2.30am and 3am on Sunday 16 March, at a nightclub on Northgate Street.

The victim, a 20-year-old woman from Chester, was assaulted by an unknown man and sustained serious injuries.

She was hospitalised for a month as a result of her injuries and has since been discharged.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing.

As part of the investigation, officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they are looking to speak to.

Detective Constable Lauren Wycherley Jones said: "The victim is now recovering from the attack after sustaining serious injuries to her spine and we are committed to doing all we can to identify the person responsible.

"As part of our investigation, we are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV images as we believe he may hold important information.

"Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact us on 101, or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML 2075233.

"I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch."
