In the week when Samantha Dixon MP marked her second anniversary as a Member of Parliament for Chester, she celebrated returning more than £1 million to local residents.

Mrs Dixon, Member of Parliament for Chester North and Neston said: "I am pleased my hard working team of caseworkers and I have been able to make sure that the money owed to people in the constituency is being given to them.

"It is wrong that so many people aren't receiving money to which they're entitled.

"As a local MP, I work hard in the service of local people."

The £1,051,864.34 was calculated following feedback from residents who received money owed to them for a wide variety of reasons including entitled benefit support, organisations returning money owned, compensation payments and more.

The figures may be even higher.

Samantha Dixon was elected in December 2022 for the former constituency of City of Chester.

She now represents Chester North and Neston which includes the city and communities of Blacon, Upton, Hoole, Boughton, Saughall and Mollington as well as Neston, Parkgate and Willaston.
