A person was taken to hospital following a house fire in Chester on Wednesday evening.

At around 11.19pm on Wednesday 24 June, three fire engines were called to a property on Skips Lane.

Fire crews arrived to find a fire on the first floor of the house.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using two hose reels and a covering jet. A high-pressure fan was then used to ventilate the property once the fire was extinguished.

Crews also used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hidden fire spread and carried out further inspection work to ensure the incident was fully under control.

All occupants were accounted for, with one person taken to hospital by paramedics.
