Chester school receives outstanding Ofsted report
A Chester school has received praise following its latest outstanding Ofsted report.
St Martin's Academy on Hoole Road, part of the North West Academies Trust, was described as a 'a very happy place to learn' in the latest report.
This is the school's first inspection since May 2015, and inspectors were impressed with the academic achievements and personal growth of the pupils.
The report commended the school for preparing its pupils for life beyond school.
It said: "Pupils achieve high levels of success in terms of their academic achievement and their personal development.
"They are exceptionally well-prepared for life beyond school. Pupils' attitudes to learning are exceptional.
"They work hard in lessons, they follow adult instructions promptly and effectively and their positive attitude contributes greatly to their successful learning."
Behaviour was described as 'exemplary', with inspectors praising the consistent application of high expectations and routines by staff, starting from the early years.
Headteacher Wenda Smith congratulated the staff, pupils and families on the achievement and thanked them for their commitment to ensuring that St Martin's continues to provide the best education possible.
She said: "We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work of our entire school community.
"This report reflects the unique opportunities and support we offer to ensure our pupils achieve their full potential."
Stephen Docking OBE, CEO of North West Academies Trust, said: "This outstanding report highlights the exceptional work being done at St Martin's Academy.
"It's a testament to the commitment of staff, the ambition of pupils, and the support of parents and carers."
