Multi-agency search under way in Chester after reports of person in water

A multi-agency search operation is under way in Chester following reports of a person in the water near Grosvenor Road late on Wednesday night.
Crews were called to the scene at 11.34pm on 27 May, following concerns for a person in the water.
Police, Coastguard and RNLI teams joined firefighters at the incident. Fire engines from Chester, Powey Lane, Tarporley, Knutsford and Penketh also attended, alongside a crew from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Specialist units, including the rescue boat from Powey Lane, the Rapid Response Rescue Unit from Knutsford and Chester's aerial ladder platform, were deployed.
Search teams used rafts, an RNLI lifeboat and underwater camera equipment as part of efforts to locate the person.
The operation remains ongoing this morning, with crews still at the scene. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: "Crews were called following reports of a person in the water in Chester. Police, Coastguard and RNLI teams also attended the scene.
"Specialist search operations were launched using rafts, an RNLI lifeboat and underwater camera equipment to search the area.
"Crews are at the scene, and the search is ongoing."
