Man charged with attempted murder following serious crash near Chester

A 58-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious crash near Chester.
Shortly after 2.30am on Saturday 7 February, police were called to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a blue Kia Sportage, while walking on Church Road, Doddleston.
Officers attended the scene and the pedestrian was found to have sustained serious injuries. The pedestrian, a 43-year-old man from Wrexham, was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital where he remains at this time.
His condition is currently described as stable.
Paul Rudd, who was arrested shortly after the crash, was charged with one count of attempted murder after questioning.
The 58-year-old of Warren Hall Court, Mold Road, Broughton, has been remanded in police custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court today (Monday 9 February).
