A man has been charged following two burglaries in the grounds of the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The burglaries took place in two flats in an accommodation block within the hospital grounds, used by medical staff.

Police were called to the area on 22 June, following reports that an unknown man had got into the flats.

Following enquiries, 35-year-old Alan Sands, of no fixed abode in the Chester area, was arrested. He has since been charged with two counts of burglary.

He has been bailed to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 15 September.
