Journey through time: railway benefit fund exhibition at Chester Cathedral

An exhibition celebrating the crucical work of Railway Benefit Fund (RBF) at Chester Cathedral is set to close next weekend (August 30th).
The display, which coincides with the bicentenary of the modern railway, is a journey through time, from the 1800s to the present day.
This is an opportunity for the public to visit the special display, which runs alongside the charity's President, Pete Waterman's "Making Tracks".
The exhibition highlights RBF's historical roots, evolution, and contemporary impact, while also celebrating the individuals who have shaped the railway industry.
Through a series of informative and visually engaging displays, visitors will explore the significant impact it continues to have on the lives of railway people and their families.
Jo Kaye, CEO of RBF, said: "This exhibition is a tribute to the legacy of compassion, support and community that Railway Benefit Fund represents. It's not just about the railways infrastructure; it's about the people behind it."
A key feature of the exhibition is a special focus on RBF's, "Heart of Gold" winners. These individuals, described as the "Superstars of the railway," are celebrated for their exceptional dedication and commitment to helping others. Their stories serve as a powerful reminder of the selflessness and community spirit that defines the railway family.
"The exhibition at Chester Cathedral runs until Saturday 30th August, and is an excellent opportunity for both railway enthusiasts and the public to gain a deeper understanding of the rich history and crucial role of RBF."
