Historic Chester city centre pub up for sale

A Chester city centre pub has been put up for sale, offering a rare chance to take over an iconic 17th century pub.
Dating back to 1664, The Bear and Billet, located on Lower Bridge Street, is a historic pub set in a black and white traditional half timbered building.
Having been described as "the finest 17th Century timber framed town house in Chester", the pub is now on the market, with commercial property consultants Everard Cole handling the sale.
Located within the City Walls, the Grade I listed pub is spread across three floors and operates on "a wet sales only basis".
Its ground floor bar area features a front bar, open fire, polished timber floor, exposed ceiling beams and seating for approximately 60 people on assorted chairs, stools and bench style seating.
Upstairs, the first floor boasts an open fire, exposed ceiling beams and seating for approximately 40 people.
A commercial catering kitchen can be found on the second floor.
Everard Cole said: "The Bear and Billet is located on Lower Bridge Street, a stones throw from the River Dee within the City Walls of Chester.
"The property occupies a prominent position and well known as it's black and white half-timbered traditional appearence that dates back to 1664.
"There is demand for food and the property benefits from a fully fitted commercial kitchen which can only increase the current trade."
The Bear and Billet is available leasehold, with offers invited in the region of £60,000 + VAT.
