Hoole Community Centre gears up for biggest BBQ yet
By Dherran Titherington 26th Jun 2026
Hoole Community Centre will host its annual community BBQ this July, with an afternoon of live music, local food and family entertainment.
The event takes place on Saturday 25 July from 3pm to 9pm, with the community hub preparing for its biggest celebration of the year.
This year's festival promises more attractions than ever before, including live music from local performers, a premium BBQ featuring locally sourced produce, a fully licensed bar serving cocktails and alcoholic slushies, carnival games, inflatables, a petting zoo, face painting, hair braiding, a raffle, tombola and activities for all ages.
Visitors will also have the chance to discover more about the work that takes place at Hoole Community Centre throughout the year.
A range of groups based at the centre will be offering taster sessions and demonstrations, giving people the opportunity to explore the activities, support services and community groups available on their doorstep.
While the event is designed as a fun day out for families and friends, it also plays an important role in supporting the centre's future.
As an independent charity, Hoole Community Centre relies on fundraising events like the annual BBQ to help fund its work throughout the year. Every ticket purchased, burger sold and raffle ticket bought helps support the activities, services and community programmes that benefit local people every week.
"The BBQ is the one day of the year when we get to showcase everything that's special about Hoole Community Centre," said Donna King, centre manager at Hoole Community Centre.
"We want people to come for the music, the food, the cocktails, the inflatables and the entertainment, but we also want them to discover everything else that happens here throughout the year.
"As a charity, events like this genuinely make a difference. The funds raised help us continue providing activities, support and opportunities for local people and ensure that Hoole Community Centre remains a welcoming, vibrant place for everyone.
"Whether you've been visiting the centre for years or have never stepped through our doors before, we'd love to welcome you and show you what makes this community so special."
Organisers are encouraging people from Hoole, Chester and the surrounding areas to bring along family and friends for what promises to be one of the highlights of the local summer calendar.
Tickets can be booked online here, or directly from Hoole Community Centre.
